Biography

Sri-Rajasekhar Kothapalli is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University. He received his M. Phil in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Hyderabad in 1998, followed by an M.Eng in Applied Optics from I.I.T Delhi in 2000. He advanced his education with an MS in Applied Physics from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 2004 and earned his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis in 2009. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Radiology at Stanford University in 2013. His research interests focus on developing innovative imaging technologies, including multimodal optical and acoustic imaging systems aimed at improving diagnostic methodologies in medicine. He has received several prestigious awards including the NSF CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation and the Penn State Alumni Association Dissertation Award. His work is supported by various funding agencies such as the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering.
