Sridhar V.K. Eswaran is an Associate Professor and Assistant Program Director of Advanced Periodontics at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. He received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from MGR Medical University in Chennai, India, in 2001. Following this, he pursued advanced research training in oral biology at Stony Brook University in New York, where he explored the link between gum disease and heart disease. After completing his master's degree, he continued his specialty training in periodontics and implant dentistry at the University of Texas, receiving his Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) and a specialty certificate in periodontics in 2009. Dr. Eswaran is a board-certified periodontist and a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, specializing in implant dentistry and the treatment of gum disease. He is actively involved in clinical and educational research in periodontics and implant dentistry, with a particular interest in bone regeneration using growth factors and host modulation. His research has been presented at both national and international conferences. Dr. Eswaran is a recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation Fellowship and the ADEA/AAL Institute for Teaching and Learning in the Health Professions. He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI), and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).
