Dr. Srinivas Behara

Biography

Srinivas 'Vasu' Behara serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas School of Law, where he directs the Judicial Internship Program. With extensive experience in civil litigation, mediation, and presiding, Professor Behara also holds the position of Chief of the Litigation Division for the City of Austin. Prior to joining the city, he was the Deputy Chief Administrative Law Judge at the Texas State Office of Administrative Hearings, which adjudicates contested case hearings for the state's executive branch. His legal career includes clerking for the Honorable Ricardo H. Hinojosa in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas and serving as a Staff Attorney for the Honorable Karin Crump, Presiding Judge at the 250th Judicial District Court of Travis County. Additionally, he has practiced business litigation at DLA Piper LLP and served as assistant general counsel for the Texas Medical Association, focusing on health law and legislative affairs. Professor Behara is actively involved in pro bono work, having previously been the President of the Board of Directors for Volunteer Legal Services Central Texas and a member of the Austin Bar Association's Board of Directors. He earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Trinity University and his law degree with honors from the University of Texas School of Law.
