Dr. Srinivas Peeta

Biography

Srinivas Peeta is a Professor and holds the Frederick R. Dickerson Chair in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on modeling and analysis of large-scale transportation systems, aiming to develop methodologies that address the interdependencies of infrastructure systems. He explores real-time information-based vehicular traffic networks and models human behavior related to drivers and travelers. His work includes creating integrated supply-demand-performance models for strategic planning and real-time operational applications, emphasizing the linkages among transportation, energy, and the environment. Peeta's research also investigates policy options that impact the evolution of transportation systems, using a system-of-systems perspective to tackle the complexities of adaptive systems ranging from engineered solutions to human enterprise systems. He is involved in understanding how communities can plan for a connected future with technologies like connected and autonomous vehicles.
