Professor Dr. Srinivas Shakkottai

Biography

Srinivas Shakkottai is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University. He has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, completed in 2007. His research interests primarily focus on communication networks, with an emphasis on the Internet. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to collaborate with various research centers that specialize in analytical measurement-based approaches. His work encompasses several key areas, including content distribution and peer-to-peer methods, network economics, learning game theory, and measurement analysis of Internet data. Throughout his academic career, Shakkottai has received numerous awards, recognizing his contributions to the field, including the Cisco Research Award, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency Young Investigator Award, the Google Faculty Research Award, and the NSF CAREER Award.
