Biography

Sriram Subramanian is an Assistant Professor and Canada Research Chair in Artificial Intelligence at the School of Computer Science, Carleton University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Anna University, India (2016), a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada (2018), and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo (2022). His doctoral dissertation won the Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Canadian AI Association in 2023. In addition to his academic role, he is a Faculty Affiliate at the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence and the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society in Toronto. Sriram's research focuses on the development of novel algorithms and data structures in fields such as Multi-agent Systems, Reinforcement Learning, Game Theory, and Deep Learning. His work aims to find effective solutions to challenges in multi-agent learning systems, particularly in non-stationarity and effective communication. He investigates both theoretical and empirical aspects of existing algorithms and has contributed to top-tier journals and conferences in the field, including ICML, AAMAS, and AAAI.
