Biography

Stacey Bass, MD, PhD, is an accomplished physician-scientist with extensive training and expertise in diagnostic and interventional radiology, and has a specialized focus on vascular anomalies. She graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, followed by her medical and doctoral training through the NIH-supported Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Dr. Bass earned her MD and PhD, with her doctoral research centered on neuroscience, specifically focusing on epilepsy in an animal model of subcortical band heterotopia. After completing her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she served as chief resident, she further honed her expertise through a fellowship in Vascular Interventional Radiology at the same institution, again serving as chief fellow. Transitioning to academia, Dr. Bass joined Yale School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Vascular and Interventional Radiology and Pediatrics and currently serves as the Medical Director of Pediatric Interventional Radiology. She has founded and directs the Yale New Haven Children's Hospital Vascular Anomalies Program, a globally recognized multidisciplinary effort dedicated to enhancing care and innovation in this specialized field. Dr. Bass’s research passionately focuses on finding effective treatments for vascular anomalies, improving patient outcomes through minimally invasive techniques.
