Biography

Stacia Beth Birdsall is a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Her research focuses on improving reproductive health for vulnerable populations. Previous work has investigated role stress and perceived discrimination in women's healthcare utilization outcomes. Current projects explore innovative approaches to preparing undergraduate and graduate nursing students for caring for childbearing families. With fifteen years of clinical research, practice, and teaching experience in public health midwifery, Professor Birdsall has worked in various locations including New Haven, CT; Kabul, Afghanistan; and New York City. She continues to see patients at the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center in Chinatown. She has obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Princeton University, a Master of Science in Nursing from Yale University, a Master of Public Health from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, and a PhD in Nursing from NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing.
