Professor Dr. Staffan Johansson

Biography

Staffan Johansson is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Gothenburg. He has extensive experience in management and organization within human service organizations. His ongoing research focuses on supported employment for individuals with long-term mental disabilities through randomized controlled intervention studies. He has been involved in several significant research projects funded by the Swedish Research Council and has contributed to evaluations and studies pertaining to the effectiveness of social services. Additionally, he has held various roles, including Mission Head Research at Vårdalinstitutet and substitute member of the Regional Ethical Review Committee. His research interests encompass the intersection of social services, project methodologies, and the management of welfare organizations in Sweden and beyond. Johansson has published numerous articles and reports on the organization, leadership, and impact of social services, shaping the discourse on welfare policies in the welfare state.
