Biography

Stanley Ho Chan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics at Purdue University. He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 2007 and continued his studies at the University of California, San Diego, where he earned a Master of Arts in Mathematics in 2009 and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2011. Following his doctoral studies, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University in 2014. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics including Estimation Theory, Image Analysis, Machine Learning, Optimization, Sampling Theory, and Signal Image Recovery. He has been recognized for his contributions to the field with several awards, including the Croucher Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in 2012 and the IEEE Paper Award at the International Conference on Image Processing in 2016, among others. He is dedicated to teaching and mentoring students in the field of statistics and electrical engineering.
