Dr. Stanley Huey

Biography

Stanley Huey is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Southern California Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1998. Since joining the USC psychology faculty in 2000, Dr. Huey has focused his research on psychotherapy outcomes for children and adolescents, with an emphasis on culture-responsive treatments for ethnic minorities and the mechanisms of psychotherapy that lead to clinical change. His work has been published in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology and the Journal of Abnormal Psychology. Dr. Huey has contributed to significant book chapters on evidence-based psychotherapies for ethnic minority children and adolescents, further highlighting his dedication to applying psychological practices that consider cultural competence. His recent research addresses the effects of various types of discrimination on mental health and the efficacy of interventions promoting mental well-being for diverse populations.
