Biography

Stanley Rosen is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Southern California's Dornsife College. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1979. Professor Rosen specializes in the politics of the People's Republic of China, with significant contributions to the understanding of Chinese film and society. His research has received substantial funding from various educational and cultural organizations, including the Taiwan Ministry of Culture and the US Department of Education. Rosen has published multiple books, such as 'Soft Power with Chinese Characteristics' and 'Art, Politics, and Commerce in Chinese Cinema,' advancing the field's discourse on soft power and cultural representation. He has also contributed to numerous journal articles, examining themes like public diplomacy through film and the intersection of youth and state in China. An active participant in international academic forums, he has presented his work at prestigious institutions like the University of Nottingham and the University of Pennsylvania.
