Biography

Stavroula G. Mougiakakou is an Associate Professor with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Bern and leads the AI in Health and Nutrition laboratory at the ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research. Her research interests encompass artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision applications in health nutrition. Dr. Mougiakakou has served as an Associate Editor for high-ranking journals, organized international workshops on multimedia-assisted dietary assessment, and successfully supervised over 22 PhD and MSc students. She is an active member of several professional organizations including IEEE and ACM, and has coordinated numerous nationally and internationally funded research projects, enhancing the integration of technology in healthcare.
