Stefan Antusch received his Diploma and Ph.D. from the Technical University of Munich. He worked as a postdoc at the University of Southampton from 2003 to 2005 and at the Autonomous University of Madrid from 2005 to 2007. From 2007 to 2011, he led a Max Planck Research Group at the Max Planck Institute for Physics (Werner Heisenberg Institute) in Munich. In 2011, he became a Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Basel and was promoted to Full Professor in 2020. His research focuses on the theory of matter and forces in the universe, and his group works on the development of fundamental theories in elementary particle physics. They aim to resolve the challenges present in the Standard Model and work on theories related to the early universe, unified theories of forces, and the origins of particle masses and mixings, while also exploring ways to probe new physics in neutrinos.
The University of Basel generally requires C1 level proficiency in the language of instruction. For most English-taught Masters, TOEFL (min 92-95) or IELTS (min 7.0) is the standard.
