Biography

Stefan Feske focuses his research on the signaling pathways that control the immune system, especially through the mechanism of store-operated calcium entry (SOCE) and the calcium release–activated calcium (CRAC) channels. His work investigates how these ion channels affect immune cell functions, specifically in the contexts of infection, autoimmunity, and cancer. The lab conducts both animal model studies and patient research to better understand the defects in CRAC channel function. Additionally, he is exploring how calcium signals play a critical role in regulating immune responses. Feske serves as the Jeffrey Bergstein Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Ion Channel Immunity Program at New York University.
