Biography

Stefan Gold is a Professor of Sustainability Management at the Technical University of Munich's Campus Straubing. His academic career includes a focus on sustainability transformations within economic and societal contexts. He primarily researches modern slavery, decent work, sustainability diffusion, circular economy, and sustainable supply chains. Prior to his current position, he was a Professor of Corporate Sustainability at the University of Kassel from 2017 to 2025 and served as an Assistant Professor at the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility at the University of Nottingham from 2014 to 2016. Gold earned his PhD from the University of Kassel in 2011 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. He studied International Business and Cultural Studies at the University of Passau between 1997 and 2003. Gold has received several awards for his impactful research and has been recognized in rankings of leading scientists in his field.
