Biography

Stefan G Kostadinov graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Trakia University in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. He completed his residency in anatomical clinical pathology at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York, from 1999 to 2003, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Perinatal Pathology at Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University Medical School, from 2003 to 2004. Dr. Kostadinov joined the Division of Perinatal Pathology at Women & Infants Hospital in 2004 and was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Pathology at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in both Anatomical and Pediatric Pathology. His research interests focus on fetal placental pathology, emphasizing fetal growth restriction, stillbirth, and related placental abnormalities and their clinical correlates. Dr. Kostadinov has extensive teaching involvement, engaging with medical students and pathology, pediatric, obstetric gynecology, and maternal-fetal medicine residents and fellows. He currently serves as the Director of the Don B. Singer Fellowship in Developmental Perinatal Pathology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
