Biography

Professor Stefan Minner has made significant contributions in the areas of logistics and supply chain management, focusing on deal design optimization and global logistics networks under uncertainty through data-driven optimization. His research encompasses decision support methods, inventory management, transportation, urban logistics, and strategic logistics planning. He began his academic journey studying business administration at the University of Bielefeld and later earned his doctorate from the University of Magdeburg in 1999. Following this, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Calgary and achieved his habilitation in 2003. In 2004, he took the Chair of General Business Administration Logistics at the University of Mannheim, and in 2008, he moved to the Chair of Logistics Supply Chain Management at the University of Vienna. Since 2012, he has been a full professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and became a member of the Munich Data Science Institute (MDSI) in 2021. Prof. Minner has also served as an editor for the International Journal of Production Economics as well as holding leadership roles in various logistics associations, reinforcing his position as a leading academic in his field.
