Dr. Stefan Nilsson

Biography

Stefan Nilsson is a professor and researcher at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences at the University of Gothenburg, as well as at the Centre for Person-Centred Care (GPCC). His research specializes in pediatric nursing, focusing on participation of children and young people in health care, particularly concerning those with long-term illness or disability. Nilsson's work aims to explore the roles of children and young people’s relatives, evaluating and designing support systems to alleviate pain and stress. As a principal investigator, he has led projects aimed at developing and evaluating complex interventions like the HOPE PicPecc project, which intends to improve patient-centered care for children. His published works address various aspects of pediatric care, including pain assessment methodologies and nursing practices that integrate the perspectives of patients and their families.
