Biography

Stefan Trueck is a Professor of Business Analytics and Director of Macquarie University’s Centre for Transforming Energy Markets. He also serves as Co-Director of the Centre for Risk Analytics within the Macquarie Business School. Trueck was awarded the prestigious ARC Future Fellowship which recognizes outstanding mid-career researchers and is supported by the Australian Government. He has held academic positions at the Queensland University of Technology and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. Trueck earned his PhD in Business Engineering and is known for his research focusing on risk management, financial econometrics, and business analytics, particularly in the fields of energy commodity markets, emissions trading, credit risk, systemic risk, cyber risk, and climate change economics in international financial markets. His research has been published in high-impact journals including the European Journal of Operational Research, Global Environmental Change, Journal of Banking & Finance, Energy Economics, and others. Trueck has received significant research funding through the Discovery Grants from the Australian Research Council and major grants from the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF).
