Biography

Stefan Vlaski is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London. His research lies at the intersection of machine learning, network science, optimization, signal processing, and communications. He earned a B.Sc. degree from the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany (2013) and both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles (2014 and 2019, respectively). Following his Ph.D., he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Adaptive Systems Laboratory at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland from September 2019 to August 2021. His academic achievements include awards such as the German National Scholarship and the TU Darmstadt Graduate Division Fellowship, as well as recognition in student paper contests at IEEE ICASSP 2016 and IEEE CAMSAP 2019. Additionally, he has contributed to patents during his time at UCLA and Amazon. Vlaski is actively involved in the IEEE Signal Processing Society and serves on several editorial boards.
