Stefan Witte received his PhD (cum laude) in 2007 from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where he focused on the development of ultrafast lasers for precision spectroscopy and frequency combs. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at Vrije Universiteit, specializing in nonlinear microscopy and biomedical imaging, followed by ultrafast electron dynamics and lensless imaging at JILA, University of Colorado. In 2014, he joined the Advanced Research Center for Nanolithography (ARCNL) as the head of the EUV Generation Imaging group and the Metrology Department. Witte has been an associate professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam since 2019. He has received notable grants including the ERC Starting Grant in 2014, the ERC Consolidator Grant in 2019, and the NWO VICI grant in 2022, and he is the principal investigator of the NWO-TTW Perspectief consortium LINX, which focuses on lensless imaging with soft-X-rays.
