Biography

Stefan Wolf is a full professor at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in the field of Informatics. He received his Diploma in Mathematics from ETH Zurich and completed his PhD in Computer Science at the same institution under the supervision of Professor Ueli Maurer. Following his doctoral studies, he pursued postdoctoral research at McGill University in Montreal and later served as an assistant professor at the University of Waterloo in Ontario and Université de Montréal in Quebec. From 2005 to 2011, he held the position of SNF Professor of Quantum Information at ETH Zurich. His research focuses on cryptography, information theory, and quantum information processing, with particular interest in the efficient realization of provably secure cryptographic information-processing functionalities based on weak classical and quantum-physical primitives.
