Biography
Stefan Wurster, born in 1980, is a professor specializing in policy analysis at the Munich School of Politics and Public Policy at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). His research focuses on policy analysis in areas closely linked to sustainability, education, research, innovation, environmental policy, and energy policy. Specific research interests include the comparison of democracies and autocracies, governance, and the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology. He studied political science and public law in Heidelberg and Barcelona, earning his Ph.D. with distinction in 2010. Between 2009 and 2015, he worked as a research associate at Heidelberg University. In 2010, he began a postdoctoral research project titled 'Sustainability Regime Type', successfully completing its interim evaluation in 2013. He coordinated the doctoral study program 'Performance Politics in Autocratic and Democratic Regimes' from 2012 to 2015 and served as an assistant professor at the University of Trier. In 2016, he joined TUM as a professor in policy analysis.
