Biography

Stefania Forlini is an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary, specializing in English Literature. She earned her PhD from Simon Fraser University in 2007, following an MA in 2002 and a BA (Hon) in English Literature in 2000 from the same institution. Additionally, she holds a BSc in Nursing from McGill University. Her academic work includes contributions to critical editions and several research projects focusing on the literary history of science fiction. In 2021-2022, she worked on a critical edition of Arthur Machen's 'Impostors,' which highlights the author's impact on popular genres during the fin de siècle. Her research has been supported by grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, including a project titled 'The Stuff Science Fiction: Experiment Literary History,' conducted between 2013-2016 with various collaborators.
