Biography

Stefania Impellizzeri is an Associate Professor and the Jet Ice Research Chair in Sustainable Materials Chemistry at Toronto Metropolitan University. Her research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including Carbon Nanoparticles, Fluorescent Probes and Sensors, Heterogeneous Catalysis, Photocatalysis, Ice Paints, and Ice Making, reflecting her collaboration with industry. Stefania has received multiple awards recognizing her excellence in research, including the TMU Early SRC Career Excellence Award in 2023 and the Dean's SRC Activity Award in 2022. She is actively involved in professional organizations, serving as an Executive Member of the Working Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Committee of the Canadian Society for Chemistry and as a member of the Board of Directors of Nano Ontario. She has held prestigious fellowships, including the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship from NSERC and a Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship. Stefania earned her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Miami and her Laurea in Chemistry from the University of Bologna.
