Dr. Stefanie Block

Biography

Stefanie Russman Block is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan's Department of Psychiatry and a Faculty Associate in Psychology. As a licensed Clinical Psychologist, she provides treatment supervision in the Psychiatry Department’s Anxiety Disorder Program. Her research focuses on understanding the cognitive, physiological, and neural mechanisms underlying behavioral psychotherapeutic interventions for anxiety, stress, and obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders. Dr. Block is currently funded by the National Institute of Mental Health to examine a real-time fMRI neurofeedback tool aimed at enhancing emotion regulation in young adults with anxiety. She obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Science from the University of Michigan and completed her clinical internship at Brown University, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at Michigan State University and the University of Michigan.
