Biography

Stefanie Kleimeier-Ros is an Associate Professor of Finance at Maastricht University. She earned her doctorate in 1993 from the University of Georgia, USA. Her research focuses on retail banking, syndicated loans, project finance, banking geography, and most recently, sustainable finance. She has published in various esteemed academic journals including the Journal of Financial Intermediation, Economic Policy, World Development, Journal of Financial Stability, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance, Financial Management, and Economic Inquiry. She has received grants from the German Academic Exchange Service, Dutch Science Foundation, and the AC21 European Credit Research Institute, and has consulted for the EU Center for European Policy Studies. Throughout her career, she has taught graduate courses in 11 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. Kleimeier-Ros is also a member of the editorial advisory boards for Applied Finance Letters, International Review of Financial Analysis, and Finance Research Letters.
