Biography

Stefano Angioletti-Uberti obtained his PhD in Materials Science from Imperial College London in 2010, where he focused on modeling solid-liquid interfaces in metallic alloys. He subsequently moved to the University of Cambridge, joining the group of Professor Daan Frenkel and shifting his research focus to Soft Matter and Nanobiotechnology. In 2013, he was honored with the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship and relocated to Humboldt University of Berlin in Germany, where he continued his work on functionalized nanoparticles with Professors Joachim Dzubiella and Matthias Ballauff. In September 2015, he became a Professor of Soft Matter at Beijing University of Chemical Technology and returned to Imperial College London in October 2016, where he leads the SoftNanoLab group. His research emphasizes the computational design of nanobiotechnology and controlling interactions between functionalized nanoparticles and biological matter. In 2023, Dr. Angioletti-Uberti co-founded Nanograb, serving as Chief Scientist, focusing on translating his research into multivalent selectivity for designing targeted gene-delivery vectors. He will also assume the role of Chief Scientist at Aminoanalytica starting in 2024, a company dedicated to the design and optimization of enzymes via molecular modeling and artificial intelligence.
