Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Stefano Bo. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Stefano Bo joined King’s College London in January 2023 as a lecturer in the Biological Physics and Soft Matter group. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Turin, Italy, in 2015, and has held prestigious positions including a Nordita Fellow at the Nordic Institute of Theoretical Physics in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2019, and a PKS Distinguished Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Max-Planck Institute for Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden, Germany. His research interests focus on the dynamics and thermodynamics of single molecules and biomolecular condensates, which are membrane-less organelles that play a key role in the spatial organization of cells. Stefano is particularly interested in how phase separation governs the statistics of individual molecules and influences noise propagation across scales. He develops and applies machine learning techniques to extract physical information from stochastic time series, especially in the context of tracking individual molecules. Furthermore, he explores new methodologies to analyze stochastic trajectories for a deeper understanding of these complex systems.
Requirements are consistent across King's Business School and Social Science & Public Policy departments for standard Master's entries.
