Stefano Tibiletti graduated in Architecture in 1993 from the Ecole d’Architecture at the University of Geneva. He began his professional practice with the studio of Hans Kollhoff in Berlin and Bernardo Secchi in Florence, eventually returning to the Ticino region. In 1994, he became a partner in his father's architectural firm based in Lugano, where he commenced a fruitful collaboration with architect Livio Vacchini. Together, they worked on various projects, including the expansion of the “Centro Macconi” in Lugano. Since 2006, he has directed the studio Architetti Tibiletti Associati, co-founded with architect Catherine Gläser-Tibiletti, leading numerous projects and participating in various competitions, most notably winning the “Intergenerational Neighborhood” of Coldrerio. Alongside his architectural duties, Tibiletti is engaged in institutional and academic activities. He serves on the historical nucleus commission of Lugano and related municipalities, is a member of the ASPAN-TI (Swiss Association for Territorial Planning), and presides over the SIA Ticino Committee. He has also contributed as an editor for the technical journal Rivista Tecnica (1998-2001) and Archi (2004-2018). Furthermore, from 1996 to 2005, he was a design assistant at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, and he currently teaches a construction course.
