Dr. Steffen Hertog

Biography

Steffen Hertog is a Professor of Comparative Politics in the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He joined the Department in 2010 and has previously held positions as the Kuwait Professor at Sciences Po Paris, lecturer in political economy at the University of Durham, and post-doctoral research fellow at Princeton University. Hertog holds a Master's degree from the University of Bonn, an MSc from the School of Oriental and African Studies, and a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford. His research focuses on comparative political economy, particularly in the context of the developing world and politics in the Gulf and Middle East regions. He teaches courses on Power Politics, Political Economy of the Developing World, Introduction to Comparative Politics, and Qualitative Methods in the Study of Politics.
