Dr. Sten Söderman

Biography

Sten Söderman is a professor emeritus of International Business at Stockholm Business School. He holds a PhD and has earned a docentship from Oxford University. In addition to his role at Stockholm Business School, he is affiliated with the Center for Sports Business at the Stockholm School of Economics Research Institute and serves as a visiting professor at the University of Tartu's Pärnu College. He has also held visiting professorships at universities in Luxembourg, Södertörn, and Göteborg. Söderman was appointed as a chaired professor at Luleå University of Technology from 1982 to 1989. He has extensive experience as a business consultant specializing in start-ups and has worked in various international cities, including Manila, Geneva, and Brussels. His professional background includes 15 years at the Scandinavian Institutes of Administrative Research and positions at CapGemini in Brussels and Stockholm. Söderman has initiated Experience Sharing Groups for high-level executives across several global cities. His teaching and research cover topics such as market strategy, international expansion for European firms in Asia, and the global entertainment economy with a focus on sports, especially football. He has contributed significantly to the academic community with 272 publications including 21 books, case studies, and articles.
