Dr. Stenio Fernandes

Biography

Stenio Fernandes is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Systems and Computer Engineering department at Carleton University. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Pernambuco in Brazil, and he has extensive post-doctoral experience at the University of Ottawa. Currently, he leads a team of Research Scientists and Developers at Element AI (EAI) in Canada, focusing on the integration and productionization of AI models for various industry applications, including capital markets, retail, cybersecurity, manufacturing, and insurance. Fernandes is a recognized expert in Internet Traffic Measurement, Network Virtualization, Cloud Computing, and Software Defined Networking. He has been involved in numerous scientific research projects across Brazil and Canada, and has published over 140 peer-reviewed papers in conferences and journals, contributing significantly to fields such as time-dependent problems, time series forecasting, and anomaly detection. Fernandes is an IEEE Senior Member and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). His research contributions have established him as a leader in his field with notable citation indices, including an h-index of 19 and an i10-index of 32.
