Biography

Stephan W. Anderson, MD, is a Professor at Boston University's Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in the Department of Radiology, specializing in Body Imaging and Abdominal Imaging. With a medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Delaware, Dr. Anderson's expertise is in computed tomography and general radiology. He is board certified and has completed an abdominal imaging fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Anderson has extensive experience in imaging thoracoabdominal malignancies and has authored 65 peer-reviewed publications in the area of abdominal imaging, as well as contributing to eight book chapters. He is an active lecturer at national and international medical imaging meetings and serves as the Section Chief of Abdominal Imaging at Boston Medical Center. His research includes grant-funded studies on enhancing MRI performance using nonlinear metamaterials and the development of novel MRI contrast agents. Dr. Anderson is involved with the Boston University-Boston Medical Center Cancer Center, utilizing his expert knowledge to further advancements in medical imaging and cancer diagnosis.
