Biography

Stephan Ehrig is a Lecturer in German at the University of Glasgow's School of Modern Languages and Cultures. He convenes Level 2 German Culture Language and is the core convener of Culture 2 at the School. Furthermore, he co-edited 'The GDR' (Peter Lang, 2018), which emphasizes interdisciplinary methodologies towards understanding East German culture across various fields. His interests also encompass urban humanities and transnational/transcultural studies, illustrated by his involvement in publications such as 'Exploring Transnational Neighbourhood' (Leuven, 2022) and 'Entertaining German Culture' (Berghahn, 2023). With a background that includes a PhD from the University of Bristol and a postdoctoral fellowship at UCD, Stephan has a rich academic experience, contributing significantly to both teaching and research activities.
