Professor Dr. Stephan Wensveen

Biography

Stephan Wensveen is a full professor at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), specializing in Constructive Design Research. His research focuses on Smart Products, Services, and Systems. As the Program Director for bachelor’s degree graduate programs in Industrial Design, he emphasizes the role of design in fostering collaboration and innovation in research and education. He has contributed significantly to the fields of design and interaction, introducing key concepts such as 'aesthetics of interaction', 'feedforward', and the 'interaction frogger', which are recognized as canonical examples in Research Design. Wensveen's academic career at TU/e began in 2002 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Design, where he advanced to Associate Professorship in 2017 and attained Full Professorship in 2011. He has also worked as an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, further enhancing his expertise and contributions to the design research community.
