Biography

Stéphane Desouches grew up in Santa Cruz, California, where he obtained undergraduate degrees in biology and biochemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He earned his medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine in 2012. Following his graduation, Dr. Desouches completed his internship and residency at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine. He then pursued a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In 2014, he became a member of the Radiology Research Alliance Association and the Association of University Radiologists. Before joining the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Desouches worked at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) where he served as the vice chair of education from 2022 to 2025, and during his tenure he was named Resident Advocate of the Year and chaired the Radiology Education Committee. Currently, Dr. Desouches is an Associate Professor and the Section Chief of Emergency Radiology at the University of Wisconsin, where his professional interests include resident and fellow education, curriculum development, and trainee mentorship.
