Biography

Stephanie Anderson is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. She holds a PhD in Marketing, a Master of Research (MRes) in Marketing, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Marketing and Management from the University of Strathclyde. Her research primarily focuses on consumption, markets, and culture, specifically exploring communities that consume ethically and the dynamics of care, rituals, and resistance. She has published work on memorialization in the Journal of Consumer Research, among other academic journals, and her research topics include anti-consumption and waste consumption. Currently, Stephanie's work investigates therapeutic consumption markets. She is a member of the Marketing Research Cluster and has received funding for various projects, including from the Scottish Government. She enjoys supervising doctoral research that examines consumer culture and material cultures of consumption, prioritizing interpretive methodologies and ethnographic visual methods. In teaching, she covers subjects like global consumer behavior and contemporary issues in consumer behavior.
