Biography

Stephanie Barron is a Lecturer at Texas A&M University in the College of Arts and Sciences, beginning her position in Fall 2023. Previously, she held the role of Associate Professor of English at Henderson State University from Fall 2010 to Spring 2022. She also served as an Assistant Professor of English at Henderson State University from Fall 2005 to Spring 2010, and was a Lecturer at the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley from Fall 2002 to Spring 2005. Her academic focus includes nineteenth-century American literature, with specific interest in Transcendentalism and Romanticism, as well as women’s literature. She has taught graduate seminars on American Women Writers and African American Literature, in addition to a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses covering topics such as the Romantic Movement in American Literature, the American Novel, and Gender Studies. Barron earned her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 2002, an M.A. from Baylor University in 1993, and a B.A. from Baylor University in 1991.
