Dr. Stephanie Czech

Biography

Stephanie Jo Czech is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Family Medicine and Psychiatry Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. She serves as the Director of the Division of Behavioral Health in the Department of Family Medicine at Memorial Hospital, where she provides training and education to family medicine residents, psychology residents, fellows, and social work students. Her work emphasizes integrated behavioral health patient care and includes research focused on primary care and leadership advocacy for behavioral health initiatives. Stephanie obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Brown University and earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Suffolk University. She completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Primary Care Behavioral Health at the Providence VA Medical Center in affiliation with the Brown Alpert Medical School Clinical Psychology Training Consortium. Her clinical research interests lie primarily in interventions in the primary care setting, particularly in mindfulness- and acceptance-based behavioral therapies, as well as the dynamics of stress, anxiety, mood disorders, and their relation to medical illness.
