Biography

Dr. Stephanie Gauthier is an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton specializing in energy demand, the built environment, and behavior change. She graduated with a degree in Architecture from the University of Paris Val de Seine and completed her MSc in Environmental Design Engineering and PhD in Energy Built Environment at University College London. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she also completed a PGCert in Academic Practice at the University of Southampton. Gauthier’s research focuses on the interaction between occupants' behaviors and thermal comfort, employing various data collection and analysis methods. She coordinates several research projects, including the EPSRC-funded LATENT project and the UKRI AI Centre for Doctoral Training in AI for Sustainability, where she trains PhD students to improve environmental conditions using AI. Her past consultancy experience spans over eight years with prestigious firms such as Arup, HOK, Atkins, and ADPi AREP, where she contributed to multi-disciplinary design teams on projects in the UK, France, China, and Abu Dhabi.
