Biography

Stephanie Goldstein is an Associate Professor (Research) in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University, where she also holds a position as a Research Scientist at the Weight Control and Diabetes Research Center of The Miriam Hospital. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on behavioral medicine from Drexel University in 2018. Dr. Goldstein has received extensive training in obesity clinical research and cardiovascular behavioral medicine, and she has been awarded a postdoctoral fellowship by the NHLBI. Her research focuses on electronic and mobile health technologies, particularly those that address weight-related behaviors associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk, including dietary habits. She specializes in using ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and machine learning to identify and predict dietary lapses in real time. Dr. Goldstein has collaborated with various research teams to develop and test digital interventions aimed at improving eating behaviors, drinking habits, and pain management. She is also involved in several funded research projects that explore innovative approaches to obesity treatment, dietary intervention strategies, and psychosocial factors affecting weight maintenance.
