Biography

Stephanie Gora's research focuses on drinking water management in small Arctic communities, evaluation of light-based technologies for water purification, and related civil engineering applications. She previously held an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Centre for Water Resources Studies at Dalhousie University and holds a PhD in civil engineering with a focus on drinking water treatment from the University of Toronto. From 2009 to 2012, she worked as a consulting engineer at CBCL Limited in Halifax and is a registered professional engineer. Stephanie is actively involved in several industry associations, including the American Water Works Association and the International UV Association. Aside from her professional pursuits, she has a passion for music and has been the lead singer in indie rock bands based in Halifax and Toronto from 2009 to 2019, enjoying photography, hiking, songwriting, and spending time with friends and family.
