Biography

Stephanie Gora's research focuses on drinking water management, evaluation of development in small Arctic communities, and light-based technologies for water purification. She previously held an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Centre for Water Resources Studies at Dalhousie University and holds a PhD in civil engineering with a focus on drinking water treatment from the University of Toronto. From 2009 to 2012, she worked as a consulting engineer at CBCL Limited in Halifax and is a registered professional engineer. Stephanie is actively involved in industry associations such as the American Water Works Association and the International UV Association. In her past, she was the lead singer in indie rock bands based in Halifax and Toronto from 2009 to 2019 and continues to enjoy photography, hiking, songwriting, and spending time with friends and family.
