Dr. Stephanie Jones Rogers

Biography

Stephanie E. Jones-Rogers is an Associate Professor of History at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research primarily focuses on women, slavery, and colonial legal and economic history in the 19th century. She is currently completing a book that reorients the understanding of the British Atlantic slave trade by centering the lives and experiences of free and captive women living across continents. This scholarly work aims to tell the often overlooked narratives of these women, highlighting their roles and contributions within historical contexts that have traditionally marginalized them.
