Stephanie Love has worked for several years within community-based criminal justice settings before returning to academia in 2022/23, where she earned her MRes in Criminology from the University of Glasgow. She worked as a Research Assistant at Strathclyde University prior to joining the University of Glasgow in April 2024 as a Research Assistant at the Scottish Centre for Crime & Justice Research (SCCJR). Alongside her colleagues at SCCJR, she supports the Bluestone Soteria project. As of October 2024, she continues her work as a Research Assistant while pursuing a PhD in Criminology, which is funded by the Scottish Graduate School for Social Sciences. Her thesis explores the ways in which gender hierarchies and inequalities manifest in online dating contexts, specifically examining women's experiences and the various intrusions they face, which feminist scholars have termed ‘men’s intrusions’. Love's research interests lie within the 'violence against women and girls' (VAWG) sphere and include gender inequality, gender-based violence (GBV), technology-facilitated sexual violence (TFSV), intersectional feminism, relationships, online dating, and gender scripts. Her current projects include research focused on the Scottish Prisons Assessment Review Outcomes for Women (SPAROW) and other initiatives related to sexual violence in Scotland.
