Dr. Munz earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Michigan in 2011 and completed a general practice residency (GPR) at the University of Michigan Health System in 2012. After her residency, she joined the faculty at the University of Michigan, taking on the role of GPR Assistant Program Director in 2014 and subsequently becoming the GPR Program Director. In 2019, Dr. Munz took on the position of Associate Chair of Hospital Dentistry and was appointed the Walter H. Swartz Professor of Integrated Special Care Dentistry. Dr. Munz contributes extensively to clinical teaching in Oral Medicine, Pathology, and Radiology at the School of Dentistry. She is committed to developing the next generation of general practice dentists. Her clinical interests include implant prosthetic rehabilitation for patients with head and neck cancer, as well as those with cleft lip/palate, craniofacial anomalies, alongside general dentistry patients with medical complexities and special healthcare needs. Her research focuses on oral disease factors that contribute to community-acquired infective endocarditis, the effects of oral prosthetics on oral health-related quality of life, and the progress of health professions in interprofessional education and collaborative patient care.
