Dr. Stephanie Pau

Biography

Stephanie Pau is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on terrestrial ecosystems impacted by climate change, with a specific interest in understanding the interactions between plants and their environment. She explores the role of biodiversity and plant traits in ecosystem functions as environmental gradients change. By employing both satellite and drone remote sensing technologies, along with traditional field measurements, she seeks to develop relationships between plant reflectance and ecological properties, contributing to the mapping of biodiversity and ecological function across landscapes. Pau holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of California, Los Angeles, and has a joint appointment in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy & Management.
