Biography

Stephanie Smith studies the decision-making process, specifically focusing on the inconsistencies in decision-making across various domains and targets, such as self versus research. She utilizes eye tracking and computational modeling to better understand the decision processes. Smith earned her PhD in Decision Psychology from Ohio State University and holds a BA from St. Olaf College. Before joining the Booth School of Business in 2022, she was a postdoctoral scholar in Behavioral Decision Making at UCLA Anderson School of Management. Outside of academia and research, Smith enjoys running, biking, hiking, and swimming. She is also an avid traveler, having visited over 40 U.S. states and more than 30 countries so far.
